Capay Valley Vineyards
Capay Valley Vineyards was established in 1998 by long-time residents Tom Frederick and Pam Welch. Varietals were chosen to complement the climate and soils – Viognier, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot.
All of Capay Valley Vineyards' wines are estate–grown, estate-vinted, and estate-bottled. The winery produces its own sparkling wines by the French Charmat method. It is the newest of very few such producers in the U.S.
Capay Valley Vineyards is “The Sparkling House of Yolo County.” The winery secured the Capay Valley’s own AVA (appellation) in 2003.
